Tolman has been praised for her performance as the role of Minnesota Police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair stated that Tolman was "calmly certainly stole the entire production". Tolman appeared in ABC's Emergence drama that debuted on 24 September 2019 but was canceled by ABC within a year, at the 21st of May in 2020 despite Tolman posting on Twitter she thought the ratings were "pretty good". She guest starred on NBC's Good Girls. She was Alma Filcott, in the second season in the series Why Women Kill. Natalie Green was the lead character on her role in the Facts of Life segment of Live In front of a Studio Audience's 3rd season.
